  • Jynx. Clinic Mascot

    Jynx is our clinic kitty.  Jynx loves visiting everyone to say hi and get the occasional kiss on the head.  She has been employee of the month consecutively since 2014.  Jynx unfortunately passed away on 6/17/2020 from cancer.  She will be deeply missed and holds a special place in all of our hearts.  She will forever be our number 1 employee.

  • Dusty, Clinic Mascot

    Dusty is our newest clinic kitty.  Dusty loves running and greeting all the pets we have in our office and sleeping.  You can often catch him resting on the back of our chairs throughout the day.  Dusty has been employee of the month runner up since January 2020

  • Dr Jeffrey Weitzel, Owner Veterinarian

    Dr. Weitzel is married with 2 daughters. His four-legged family members including a golden retriever named Crouton and a yorki/schnauzer mix named Dunker Doodle. Two cats, Peanut Butter and Farkle round out the group. Dr. Weitzel is an avid supporter of 4-H. He also enjoys garage sales and flea markets.

  • Dr. Leila Pollard, Owner Veterinarian

    Dr. Pollard is a graduate of Purdue University (2009). During her study of veterinary medicine Dr. Pollard externed here at Porter County Pet Clinic. She started originally at our sister clinic Lake Station Pet Clinic in 2009. She became a Partner here at Porter County in 2013. Dr. Pollard owns 1 dog named Trip.

  • Tyler Vargas, Regional Manager

    Tyler has been here since 2014.  He began as a Veterinarian Assistant and then was given the position of Assistant Manager in 2019.  In 2021 he was promoted to Regional Manager and helps Dr. Weitzel at all of his practices.   He has a degree in Education and has an Alaskan Husky Pit-bull Mix named Tulsa.

  • Amanda Berndt, RVT

    Amanda graduated from Purdue University in 2010 with a degree in Veterinary Technology and Biology.  She gained her Veterinary Technicians license shortly after.  Amanda has 1 dog Roc along as a foster dog and 5 cats named Scar, Tiger, Cutie, Ava, and Joey.

    Beth is married to her husband John and they have 2 children Nicholas and Nadine.  They also have 9 fur babies.  3 dogs named Sophie who is a Dane, Charlie a Shepard Husky Mix, and a Yorkie mix named Sadie.  In addition she has 1 cat named Diosa and 5 chickens.  Beth has been with us since June of 2019 but has been in the field for 6 years.  She graduated from Brown Mackie with a degree in Veterinary Technology in 2013 and gained her Veterinary Technicians license in 2017.

    Haley has been with us since August of 2019.  She is married to her husband David and have one son named Carson.  They also have a baby girl on the way.  They share their home with 2 dogs named Bowie and Pancake.  As well as 4 cats named Pwincess, Aya, Luxie, and Bubba.  She has been in the field for 9 years.

  • Stephanie Prahlow, Veterinary Assistant

    Stephanie began with us as a high school student interested in veterinary medicine.  She began coming to us for job shadowing with Dr. Weitzel and Dr. Pollard.  After she graduated Stephanie was brought on as part of the Porter County family as a Veterinary Assistant.  She is currently attending Purdue University to pursue her degree in Veterinary Medicine.  She has 1 dog named Cassian who is a Shepherd Mix.

    Hayley has been with us since June of 2019.  She is currently enrolled in Penn Foster University to obtain her degree in Veterinary Technology.  She has 2 cats named Sully and Houdini along with a hedgehog named Remmi.  She has been in the field for 4 years.
